Peeta Vs Gale

Now i only find it fitting that my last blog will also be about the hunger games just like my first blog. I am currently reading the second novel of the hunger games series called catching fire. Now I went very in depth in my first blog but one thing I didn't bring up is the relationships specifically the romantic. I myself don't "Ship" Katniss with either of her love interests. I feel in the movies it felt rushed and that they didn't actually develop a connection. One was a friend she friend zoned a long time ago and the second she was forced to act lovey dovey with to avoid being killed. Not to mention Peeta "not the friend" basically tried to kill her once in the movies via strangulation but that's a whole nother conversation. In the books it builds a bit more on Katniss and the friend's relationship, so it makes a bit more since. For instance, in the book, they both initially planned to escape the district more than once and not just the...

The Mage's Apprentice

What i chose to read this time is the first two volumes of Ancient Magus Bride which is both a beautiful yet chilling series. I would not recommend it if you don't like horror or dark themes that depict animals or people. Personally, I don't think this would be labeled completely horror, but it certainly has parts of it that 100% are. The main character is a girl named Chise (chee-seh) who is a Sleigh Beggy which is a rare type of human that can see and speak to demons/monsters that no one else can see. Resulting in this people thought the poor girl was possessed or weird because she was always talking to them or scared of them. Obviously from the outside point i can see that but it's still cruel to neglect a child due to that. In the beginning of the books, she is told Seigh Beggy's don't live long due to them absorbing magic around them involuntarily. The constant collection of magic puts strain on the body and eventually kills them. We then see the second m...

Igniting the flame

TRIGGER WARNING for suicide and mental health!      Many people have either read Fahrenheit 451 on their own or as a school assignment. I had to read this book as an assignment last year and i still find it quite fascinating. I have heard 50/50 about his book that they either hated it or loved it. I think it depends on if the teacher enjoyed teaching it like mine with keeping me intrigued and wondering. The basic gist of the book is a futuristic world where books are illegal, and firefighters are meant to burn books, not put out fires. The main character being Montag who is a fire"fighter".      There were quite a few things that I could write about in the book. For one it is quite mess up when you think about it. (duh it's a dystopian) After the first time I finished this book, it left me thinking. I thought about this book constantly the whole day and I kept on having questions I could not answer like. How could a government get this way and why is ...

A Promise Never Kept

Image
Due to my recent blog " A Demonic Plague" I've decided to read another manga. I read volume one of The Promised Neverland. I would classify it as a hidden horror dystopian, which I don't think is a thing but it's how i would put it, because it has a very cute coverup for a dark story. Like stated promised Neverland is a dystopian at its finest with a world against the characters with some form of twisted normal. The main characters are three kids under the age of twelve who all live in an orphanage with a "Mother". The kids are tested every day in academics to see which kids are the smartest. The kids or kid who ranked the lowest would then miraculously get "adopted" over time. This is when it started getting creepy.                                     ...

A Demonic Plauge

So I picked up the first three volumes of Girl from the Other Side which is a manga/graphic novel. The volumes are a bit short so I decided to just put them together. Most graphic novels are either about a romance, a superhero, or both. But this book was different. The book is set in a dystopian world where there is a demonic plague of creatures going around. If you get touched by sed creatures you become one. The main character, a little girl named Shiva about the age of five or six, is drawn in all white so she stands out amongst the dark world. Then we get to the second main character, a monster plagued with the curse of looking like one of them while still retaining his humanity, looks after the child after finding her wandering in the woods on her lonesome. I think it’s interesting that the girl is drawn as bright white so she stands out like a little light on the pages. The monster was in a dark place, no pun intended until he found his lig...

Little Nightmares

I've recently replayed the Little Nightmares series and have realized little things in the world that have made me think. Little Nightmares one and two are a puzzle horror game where you have to hide and maneuver around several monsters in the game. I have made a few theories on what different parts of the game could mean. For instance, every single monster that is shown is a disfigured adult. There's a teacher, cook, hunter, etc. While you appear to be very small you have to sneak passed these monsters who tower over you. I feel these resemble common fears most children have especially the school. In the school there are these broken dolls that set traps to kill you. These traps resemble things that a bully could use such a mop bucket filled with water. Throughout this part of the game you can hear demented giggleing and shadows for these dolls following you around and watching. When you finally get to the teacher theres some off very off about her. She has a...

A Dystopian World

For those who don't know the hunger game is basically a fallen U.S. dystopian that has twelve districts. Each districts have its own wealth and problems, Katniss, the main character, lives in the poorest district, district twelve. Each year the government called the capital holds an annual Hunger Games in which a boy and a girl's name from each district will be drawl from a bowl. They will then have to participate in the huger games and compete to the death until there is one winner. Kaniss's sisters name gets pulled and she ends up volunteering to take her place in the games, Peeta being the boy that was pulled. I found three things that i found quite intriguing while reading The Hunger Games by Suzzane Collins.     The relationships in the book felt more real than in the movie, specifically between Rue, Peeta and Katniss. To start off one major difference was the bread scene between Peete and Katniss. In the movie it is shown as a negative event where Pee...
